Desk Report: A committee has been jointly fashioned by the Bangladesh Garment Makers & Exporters Affiliation (BGMEA), and the Bangladesh Knitwear Suppliers & Exporters Affiliation (BKMEA) for benchmarking least value and manufacturing value of RMG items. BGMEA President Faruque Hassan chaired the meeting which was also attended by BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim, Vice President Miran Ali, Director Asif Ashraf, BKMEA Govt President Mohammad Hatem, Vice President Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, Vice President Md. Akhter Hossain Apurbo, and Director Imran Kader Turjo attended a meeting at the BGMEA PR business office on January 1 to examine about the difficulty and to form a committee.

The 15-member committee headed by BKMEA Vice President Fazlee Shamim Ehsan will perform thorough examination of the producing price, charge of inputs and the export value of the completed products. The Committee will endeavor to obtain empirical facts by consulting with broader stakeholders like yarn, material, dying, processing, embroidery / embellishment and components makers to recognize linked expenditures and their dynamics such as the guide-time and its impression on the in general price of earning a garment.

The exercise will also include tactic like examination of product or service specific Standard Moment Benefit (SMV) along with output processes and techniques, effectiveness and other suitable elements in pinpointing minimum amount value and producing value of RMG products.
